Bài viết trình bày hai cái nhìn khác nhau về người lính Hàn Quốc trong văn học Việt Nam, cái nhìn của những nhà văn cách mạng và cái nhìn của những nhà văn miền Nam Việt Nam. Từ đó cho thấy hình ảnh của người lính Hàn Quốc có phần phức tạp. Họ có thể là những người đánh thuê, họ có thể vì hoàn cảnh mà rơi vào cảnh tối tăm, đau khổ, họ dù tàn bạo nhưng biết tôn trọng văn hóa, tôn giáo của người Việt.
